McCordsville Health Hut for Pre- and Post-Workout Fuel

Many gyms and wellness centers have vending machines for their members so they can grab a snack on the go. Say hello to another granola bar for lunch! Here at Hancock Health McCordsville Wellness Center, though, we take fueling the body seriously, and that means more than just a pre-packaged vending machine snack. Our Health Hut offers delicious, nutritious food and smoothies you can count on to fuel your workout!

Why nutrition matters

Because we have dietitians on staff at all of our Hancock Health Wellness Centers, we already know the importance of nutrition. Eating the right foods to fuel your body will not only give you more energy to put into your workout and the rest of your day, but it will also help you to achieve your weight loss goals. And if you are someone struggling to manage diabetes or other chronic conditions, eating healthy can go a long way in helping you to feel your best. You can even prevent many common conditions by paying attention to your eating habits.

Getting plenty of protein, healthy fats, whole grains, fresh fruits and vegetables can mean the difference between feeling sluggish or feeling fit and fabulous! If you have questions about how to eat so you feel energized and healthy, speak to one of our dietitians who are available to assist our members!

Health Hut offers plenty of freshly prepared snacks, smoothies and meals for our members of the Hancock Health McCordsville Wellness Center. While our members’ three favorite picks for a post workout meal are the Strawberry Chicken Salad, Breakfast Burrito and the Chicken and Cheese Quesadilla, don’t forget to try out the other breakfast and lunch options, too! 

When it comes to smoothies, we’ve got you covered with the member favorite Peanut Butter Dream with bananas, yogurt, chocolate whey protein and peanut butter powder. You can even mix and match to create your own post-workout concoction. Smoothies can be an easy (and delicious!) way to get vitamins and even protein to help your body recover after a sweat session. So, whether you joined in one of our group fitness classes, sweat it out at Ignite or took a dive into the pool, make sure to stop by and enjoy a tasty meal!

The Health Hut is available at the Hancock Health McCordsville Wellness Center on Mondays, Tuesday and Wednesdays from 7 am to 7 pm and Thursdays and Fridays from 7 am to 3 pm. Our friendly staff is here to help you get the nutrition you need after a satisfying workout in our state-of-the-art wellness center.
