According to Cory Hisle, fitness supervisor for Hancock Wellness Center’s Greenfield location, CrossFit can quickly become a lifestyle that is characterized by safe, effective exercise paired with sound nutrition. “Together, we are able to combat disease while working to become the most fit version of ourselves; all while doing so within a community of like-minded people,” he says.
The element of community in CrossFit is astounding. This trend has taken on various forms all across the country, creating pockets of people who connect based on their shared passion for living a healthy lifestyle. Hisle says that the beauty here is people from all walks of life come together, whether they’re professional athletes, stay-at-home parents, seniors, youth, and even those with varying degrees of ability. It is fairly simple to tailor the program to each individual, as it consists of movements such as push-ups, pull-ups, squats, and many easy-to-understand exercises. The magic comes in the repetition as well as the length of time one performs the action.

As a Medical Fitness Certified facility, Hisle says that the centers located in New Palestine and Greenfield can claim one of the only CrossFit programs under a therapeutic title. The CrossFit approach that’s available within the Hancock Wellness Center model provides true quality in that it’s overseen by exercise specialists, just like all of the other programming within the three HWC locations.
